- Blend the outdoors with the indoors utilizing natural materials and neutral colors
- Implement social gathering with picture perfect spaces and comfortable seating
- Encourage customers to share the organic ingredients from Rooted, by being able to bring a piece of it home
Consumer Profile
In the breakfast/happy hour cafe at Rooted, we are looking to cater towards anyone from their early 20’s up until their old, old age. Since the groceries are locally sourced and all organic, the price points of these products will be higher than at your typical grocery store, but similar to those at Whole Foods or Earth Origins. The prices on the menu items can be similar to those at any farm-to-table restaurants. Therefore, more expensive than a McDonalds, but far less pricey than a nice stakehouse. In the morning, Rooted is a far more casual coffee bar, but in the evening, it tends to get slightly nicer and more sophisticated.
Flourish
A healthy lifestyle starts within. While creating harmony with yourself, it grows and connects to friends, family, and community in an organic way. Inspired by a singular flower that branches out into many, many roots, Rooted will utilize the interior environment as a medium to connect the divide between the North and South sides of the Tallahassee community.
The goals of the design will be implemented through the concept of flourishing. Rooted Kitchen and Bar will connect employees, customers, and the community through a connection to the outdoors, a tranquil, serene space, and a social, open dining space. Organic forms, natural textures, and a soft color palette will create this harmony between the customer’s lifestyle and the restaurant itself.

The storefront utilizes darker, neutral colors to allow the inside lights and colors to shine through the windows. Visitors can preview the space through the large windows and bright lights prior to entry.

During the day, families are encouraged to bring children and linger.

The patio is made up of lounge and formal seating to create a comfortable atmosphere for both day and night. The coffee bar window allows guests to pick up food without ever stepping inside.

Built-in refrigerators placed behind booths allow visitors to retrieve the ingredients to create the menu items at home, all sourced from local farms.

The high top bar utilizes a lower counter that doubles as a transaction top and hostess stand with a to-go window behind the space for guests outdoors.

The simple waiting area encourages guests to shop for plants, coffee mugs, and different apparel.
